The Sindar Empire of Aelosia is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Everqueen Aliria with an iron fist, and renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 18.952 billion are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aelos Craftworld. The average income tax rate is 100%. The police have been swamped with requests to stay up past bedtime, crime suspects are forced to submit to blood testing, Aelosia-made cars tend to catch fire in people's driveways, and only the rich can afford the latest medical innovations. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aelosia's national animal is the Hound of Valinor, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is The belief in the Valar, and its currency is the Celevon.
