The Popular Conciliar Republic of Aedyddia is a colossal, socially progressive nation, ruled by Zyrne with a fair hand, and notable for its ban on automobiles. Its compassionate, intelligent population of 6.41 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, the Environment, and Social Welfare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Den Aeddur. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The government funds large training centres to turn walruss into functioning members of society, recent protests against birds flying too low have resulted in bloodshed, most citizens in Aedyddia are abject pyrophobes after extremely graphic pamphlets were mailed nationwide by the government, and military funding has been stripped back. Crime is totally unknown. Aedyddia's national animal is the walrus, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the laestyn.

Aedyddia is ranked 1st in The Moon and 516th in the world for Healthiest Citizens, with 23 Standard Bananas Ingested per capita per day.
