The Imperium of Adir-Falk is a huge, economically powerful nation, ruled by Leader with an iron fist, and notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 835 million are rabid consumers, partly through choice and partly because the government tells them to and dissenters tend to vanish from their homes at night.

The government -- a sprawling, bureaucracy-choked, corrupt, pro-business morass -- juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Warxen. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 20%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Retail, and Information Technology industries.

Inheritance tax has recently been abolished, vanity is considered the eighth cardinal virtue, government-run brothels can be found on every street corner, and a recent law has banned homes from having any more than one wheel. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Adir-Falk's national animal is the Warhorse, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Golda.
