The Confederated Lordships of Abazunia is a massive, safe nation, ruled by Chieftain Ivan with an iron fist, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 2.323 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Education receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Nerdun. The average income tax rate is 68%, and even higher for the wealthy. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Woodchip Exports and Uranium Mining.

Roads are often attended by round-the-clock construction crews, the Scorpion is believed to be extinct, tombstones are ten feet high to accommodate the names of inhabitants, and airship use has soared while property values beneath their routes have plummeted. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Abazunia's national animal is the Scorpion, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Shamanism, and its currency is the Abok.

Abazunia is ranked 10th in Das Imperium and 9,462nd in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring 4 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
