The Dominion of Aanon Bay is a colossal, devout nation, ruled by Governor Matteo Gollengo with an even hand, and remarkable for its national health service. The compassionate, hard-working population of 5.614 billion Aanon Bayians have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Religion & Spirituality, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aanon. The average income tax rate is 47%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Renewable energy projects have ground to a halt, the government is spending millions on alternative clean-burning fuels, torture is illegal, and politicians accepting drinks in bars are executed for taking bribes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aanon Bay's national animal is the Fox, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Catholicism, and its currency is the Lira.

Aanon Bay is ranked 36th in Central Pacific Empire and 75,762nd in the world for Highest Drug Use, scoring 49 on the Pineapple Fondness Rating.
