The Confederate Tsardom of Dorzhabad is a massive, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.227 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Education are on the agenda. The average income tax rate is 78%, and even higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Arms Manufacturing.

People regularly disappear off the streets and all evidence of them is destroyed, the armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists, international tensions are high as Dorzhabad threatens any government with the audacity to arrest its citizens, and travellers are often forcibly evicted by torch-bearing mobs. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Dorzhabad's national animal is the Hawk, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Dorzhak.
