The Principality of -Valoniah- is a massive, economically powerful nation, ruled by Leader with a fair hand, and renowned for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.109 billion enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as the Environment and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 53%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

-Valoniah- has been recently classified as an international menace after 'liberating' several nearby territories, the commercialisation of highly deadly weapons has instilled -Valoniah- with a very polite populace, the armed forces are locked in an expensive and bloody war abroad to stamp out possible terrorists, and Leader has just been declared ruler of -Valoniah- in an international press conference. Crime is moderate. -Valoniah-'s national animal is the obama, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the cat.
