The Private Gomer of -PILE- is a colossal, economically powerful nation, renowned for its complete lack of prisons. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5.901 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Commerce, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Anarchy. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Soda Sales, Uranium Mining, and Information Technology industries.

'A is for Annulment' is a popular children's song, all guns must be registered, healthcare funding has been cut, and piracy is the nation's most popular pastime. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. -PILE-'s national animal is the pile, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the pile.
