The Libertarian Technocracy of Greater Thule is a massive, socially progressive nation, ruled by The Potentate with a fair hand, and renowned for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 3.407 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, pro-business individuals concentrates mainly on Defence, although Law & Order and Education are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Greater Thule City. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Uranium Mining.

Same-sex marriages are increasingly common, euthanasia is legal, women earn less than half the salary of men if they can even find a job, and record sales of 'child-whacking sticks' have been recorded. Crime is crippling. Greater Thule's national animal is the Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Credit.
