It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, socially-minded government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Healthcare, Law & Order, and Education. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Tourism and Beef-Based Agriculture.

Humans are considered a delicacy, the people are famous throughout the region for their bleached-white teeth, it is illegal to make racist remarks in public, and gambling is outlawed. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Gaftonoshu's national animal is the Human, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Calories.
