It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Commerce, and Education. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Dominion Heights. The average income tax rate is 47%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling, Book Publishing, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Private business has started paving paradises and putting up parking lots, police officers are seen patrolling the streets armed with satellite-guided truncheons, military spending is on the increase, and violently opinionated speakers can be heard preaching their hateful views on every street corner. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Duxburian Union's national animal is the Coyote, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Dalaenism, and its currency is the Kael.
