The Incorporated NationStates of NewTexas is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Big Tex with a fair hand, and remarkable for its museums and concert halls. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 20.362 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, liberal, pro-business individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of NewAustin. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

Kids laugh off vandalism and arson as "just fun", a ban on unsolicited cold calling in all forms is in effect, crime is on the rise as DNA sampling has been all but outlawed, and scientists regularly clone human beings for research purposes. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. NewTexas's national animal is the Armadillo, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Fajita Taco.
