It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Commerce and Education are secondary priorities. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Marratzanis. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 45%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Automobile Manufacturing industry.

Thousands of former welfare recipients are in a revolutionary uproar as the rest of society is enjoying a hefty tax break, mining is the nation's most dangerous occupation, corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians, and the country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry. Arizona Nova's national animal is the wind serpent, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the shell.
