The Royal United Provinces of Yanitaria is a colossal, socially progressive nation, notable for its irreverence towards religion. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 6.156 billion enjoy some of the most opulent lifestyles in the region, unless they are unemployed or working-class, in which case they are variously starving to death or crippled by easily preventable diseases.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Defence, although Commerce and Law & Order are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 49%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Information Technology and Uranium Mining.

The adult unemployment rate nears 100% as all available jobs have been filled by young children, all streets are privately owned toll roads, young children are regularly seen wagering pocket money at blackjack tables, and the government is avowedly atheist. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. Yanitaria's national animal is the Squirrel, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Marque Royale.
