Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 14.414 billion enjoy great individual freedoms in everything except elections, which, where they exist at all, are populist shams for a dictatorship government that has no intention of ever giving up power.

There are no minimum wage laws, the government has undertaken a massive education and health program to combat VODAIS, all major public areas are watched by police surveillance cameras, and heavy industry must go to expensive lengths to dispose of waste and avoid even more costly cleanup costs. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Vrak's national animal is the chickaroach, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Klatchian Kronor.
