The Federal Republic of Urcea is a gargantuan, devout nation, ruled by President Constantine Nero with a fair hand, and renowned for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 10.584 billion are either ruled by a sleek, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, pro-business individuals juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Religion & Spirituality, and Defence. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Urceopolis. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Information Technology industries.

Citizens are permitted to carry concealed handguns, the state has declared war on the environment and environmentalists by association, the people elect the Supreme Court justices directly, and the government is well known for declaring war on other countries for suspected slights. Crime is a major problem. Urcea's national animal is the Yellow Labrador, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Roman Catholicism, and its currency is the Urcean Dollar.
