The Commonwealth Kingdom of United Earthlings is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by King Winston I and Chancellor Muller with a fair hand, and remarkable for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 16.92 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, liberal government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Education, although Commerce and Public Transport are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Reading. The average income tax rate is 38%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Uranium Mining.

The government is giving peace a chance, military recruitment numbers are down as citizens object on 'moral grounds', the nation has an international reputation for compassion, and the nation's gigantic air force is both respected and feared. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. United Earthlings's national animal is the Turtle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Curo.

United Earthlings is ranked 3,415th in the West Pacific and 74,528th in the world for Happiest Citizens, scoring 10 on the Relative Cheerfulness Rating.
