The United Republic of The Battlehawk is a colossal, genial nation, notable for its anti-smoking policies. Its compassionate population of 6.484 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Social Welfare, and Law & Order. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Tren'Lar. The average income tax rate is 91%, and even higher for the wealthy. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

The country's famous rainforests are being bulldozed by the mining industry, voting is voluntary, punitive tariffs protect local industry, and the government has cut taxes in the face of widespread tax evasion. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. The Battlehawk's national animal is the Battlehawk, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Battlehawkian Christian, and its currency is the Hawko.

The Battlehawk is ranked 1st in The Khitomer Accords and 25,328th in the world for Happiest Citizens, scoring 10 on the Relative Cheerfulness Rating.
