Overview • PeopleGovernmentEconomyTrendAnalysis

The People's Socialist Republic of Russkya is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by The Supremo with an even hand, and renowned for its anti-smoking policies. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 16.44 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Education, Defence, and Healthcare. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 75%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, the people are furious with the government for allowing citizens to be executed for petty crimes in foreign countries, teams of painters are converting road signs from horse lengths to kilometers, and government-run screening operations remove embryos with severe genetic disorders. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Russkya's national animal is the Grey Steppe Eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Russkyari.

Russkya is ranked 2nd in Socialist Federative Republics and 75,259th in the world for Happiest Citizens, scoring 10 on the Relative Cheerfulness Rating.
