The Halliburton of Romanar is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Chester Anderson with an iron fist, and renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 13.586 billion are ruled with an iron fist by the corrupt, dictatorship government, which oppresses anyone who isn't on the board of a Fortune 500 company. Large corporations tend to be above the law, and use their financial clout to gain ever-increasing government benefits at the expense of the poor and unemployed.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, Defence, and Commerce. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Delta City. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 55%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing industry, followed by Gambling and Information Technology.

Torture is commonly used to extract information from suspected criminals, the government is a law unto itself, the government encourages conflict abroad to increase arms sales, and airship use has soared while property values beneath their routes have plummeted. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Romanar's national animal is the bull moose, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Church of Romanar, and its currency is the dinar.

Romanar is ranked 190th in Taijitu and 87,055th in the world for Happiest Citizens, scoring 10 on the Relative Cheerfulness Rating.
