Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 4.418 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, moralistic government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Airstrip One. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 42%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The police have reaffirmed their tough stance on drugs, all-natural foods are becoming a major fad, frequent fliers are obliged to submit to invasive security procedures by government security, and the government has started a campaign to crack down on road rage and encourage alternate means of commuting. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Rodainia's national animal is the bulldog, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is Neo Christianity, and its currency is the pound.
