The Novus Ordo Mundi of Qazox is a colossal, safe nation, ruled by Dennis Halpberg with an even hand, and notable for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed population of 8.996 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is mainly concerned with Law & Order, although Defence and Education are secondary priorities. The average income tax rate is 100%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.
Organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region, citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', much of Qazox's computer network is controlled by a rampant artificial intelligence, and manufacturers are sued for almost anything not covered in their catalogue-sized manuals. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Qazox's national animal is the Qazian Ox, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is Qazian, and its currency is the Zaq.
Qazox is ranked 4th in the region and 51,686th in the world for Largest Furniture Restoration Industry.
