Cities are engulfed by smog, the government is pursuing a new programme aimed at promoting cultural sophistication, record sales of 'child-whacking sticks' have been recorded, and small businesses are gobbled up almost daily by corporate giants. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Neo Bretonnia's national animal is the wolf, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the gold piece.
