The Historical Colony of Knootian East Indies is a gargantuan, devout nation, notable for its national health service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 11.949 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

The tiny government concentrates mainly on Defence, although Commerce and Law & Order are on the agenda. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 4%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining, Automobile Manufacturing, and Arms Manufacturing industries.

Soylent products are an expensive commodity due to a lack of volunteers, scenic mountain valleys are flooded with water as damming projects get underway, the automotive industry soaks up huge government handouts, and children as young as twelve are conscripted into the armed forces. Crime is crippling. Knootian East Indies's national animal is the opressed native, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the knootian guilder.

Knootian East Indies is ranked 39th in Antarctic Oasis and 87,183rd in the world for Most Rebellious Youth, scoring -9 on the Stark-Dean Displacement Index.
