The Federal Republic of Greal is a colossal, economically powerful nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 6.272 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Sasha. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Arms Manufacturing, Automobile Manufacturing, and Uranium Mining industries.

Mobile phone masts are being erected all over the country, newspapers may not print any negative stories about the government, the government has implemented minimum wage laws, and public loudspeakers constantly tell citizens they are "happy people". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Greal's national animal is the Blackish Blue Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Greal Dollar.
