The Realm of Cotland is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Mykledraug with an even hand, and notable for its parental licensing program. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 11.594 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Defence, although Education and Healthcare are on the agenda. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Eeobroht. The average income tax rate is 41%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Uranium Mining industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Information Technology.
Protesters are up in arms over new nuclear power stations, all forms of advertising are banned, the nation's industries are scrambling to switch to biodegradable plastics, and the nation's diplomatic missives are now delivered via sniper rifle. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cotland's national animal is the Lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Rikskrone.
Cotland is ranked 21st in the region and 3,280th in the world for Most Godforsaken.
