Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 11.031 billion hold their civil and political rights very dear, although the wealthy and those in business tend to be viewed with suspicion.

The welfare administration’s new sweeping authority has forced the poor and needy to shop from pre-approved grocery lists, it is illegal for police officers to carry out searches due to strict privacy laws, only the rich can afford the latest medical innovations, and an increasing percentage of the population's youth have homosexual parents. Crime is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Cookesland's national animal is the Blue Owl, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Piero.
