The Panglossian Awesomeness of Namyeknom is a colossal, economically powerful nation, ruled by Il Magnifico with an iron fist, and notable for its prohibition of alcohol. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 9.106 billion are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."

The medium-sized, corrupt, moralistic government is effectively ruled by the Department of Law & Order, with areas such as Social Equality and Social Welfare receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of New Namion. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 10%. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising ten-year-olds selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

More and more students are taking up a career in medicine, military service is compulsory, artists are pillars of society, and the government has enacted freedom of information. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Namyeknom's national animal is the Mischievous Monkey, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is Haplorhinity, and its currency is the Silver Simian.

Namyeknom is ranked 4,360th in The North Pacific and 94,220th in the world for Largest Trout Fishing Sector, scoring -4 on the Nemo Depletion Efficiency Index.
