Wysteria in Two Minutes

So you’ve come to the green and pleasant region of Wysteria, no doubt lured here by linking to one of our many nations on page one of the world census, or perhaps just by chance. You registered on the Wysterian forum and think, now what?

Wysteria is an international online community. You can get involved in the social networking in the Out of Character sections; meta-gaming discussions about the Nation States’ system; or jump right into role-playing your nation in Wysteria. Involvement in the World Assembly is encouraged and your elected Delegate votes by regional consensus. Your delegate posts threads about the latest Resolutions and Repeals in the World Assembly section of our forum, but it’s up to you to get involved in the polling and discussion on our forum.

If you are nation role-playing with your fellow Wysterians you should first reserve a coordinate on the Wysterian Map. Take a look. It’s really quite nice. Once you reserve your spot, it’s yours, provided no one reserved it first. Then, you can either read up on what’s going on or jump right into to it, depending on your comfort level with role-playing. Owing the ridiculous population sizes in NationStates, with older nations over nineteen billion, knock a couple of zeros off your population and continue that on down the line with all the other figures, to keep the scale a bit more national and a bit less galactic. We have a modern tech level and your ranking in the census reports does mean something here.

Examples of role-playing include starting a news thread about events in your nation; exchanging embassies and signing treaties with your neighbours; getting involved in alliances; or developing intrigues and conflicts, both within your nation and beyond its borders. There is a Role-Playing Thread Management subforum, found in the Technical Forum that allows you to work out threads, especially where you have multiple players sorting through the chaos. You can also use private messages between those involved or the Wysterian Chat room, to make certain that everyone is on the same page. Wysteria allows each of its players the opportunity to be as much or little involved as they want to be, acknowledging that real life often interferes with your commitments to participating in the region. Between the short term jockeying results and the resurrection of Isle of Hags, a lot of nations were in the minus column for this market report. Another nation dropped a couple of places, putting them outside the 1000th place benchmark for placement in the market report. We can normally get three pages or more of nations that break 1000th place in the world standings, but once in a while we don't. The market report has a very high standard of excellence. There was only one region out there that managed three pages of sub-1000 place nations and they're a sinker with over 3000 nations in them. Some of those nations in Lazarus probably got lost on the way back to their regular homes and might not even know what region they're in. ;>)
