3 days, 16 hours ago FlagThe Green and Pleasant Dominion of The Bruce For all those Nation States who have yet to have a look at our Forum site, I highly recommend that you at least give it a good browsing. While there is good traffic on our Civic Headquarters Board, most of the role-playing and OOC talk in the Region goes on at the Forum. In many ways it performs the same kind of service as the Nation States Forum, except that it is more tailored to the nations of Wysteria. When you post messages for long-term threads, especially ones you want to include other Nations in, they don’t disappear the same day, as often is the case on the Region’s Civic Headquarters Board. In many ways our Civic Headquarters Board serves an intermediate role, somewhere between that of Chat Room and Forum.

And remember if anyone has any questions, to feel free to either send me a telegram (or a private message on our Forum site). I tend to check my telegrams at least once a day, so you’re likely to get a reply on the same business day.

For those of you who don't know, especially those who don't visit our regional forum regularly, our elected delegate is currently on vacation. He's been sitting in the big chair for nearly a year now and is due a good break. It's not the first time a delegate has gone away for a little while and with summer being a quieter time in NationStates it's a good time to do it. Besides it's not like someone is going to turn down a trip to Tanzania to ensure they're here to click the mouse or worse read the contents of the NS Security Council forum...

So, barring being eaten by lions (I've already told him to stay in the jeep, no matter how good a photo opportunity presents itself) our delegate will be back in the big chair in a couple of weeks. Until then, World Assembly member states are encouraged to read the NS forums to keep up to date on WA business and make your individual votes count.

The following has been the regional policy for endorsement trading, since there has been a Wysteria. Since 2002, it's only become necessary to eject three nations, for violating this policy.

There is nothing wrong with endorsement trading, in and of itself, in Wysteria. It’s helpful to ensure that every WA member state gets the two endorsements they need to post their own WA Proposals. To that end, when I was Delegate when I saw that some WA members didn’t get the endorsements they needed, I’d even telegram fellow WA members to endorse them for me.

I also know a lot of players don’t like being a Minnow or enjoy fiddling around with the Regional Power rankings. I don’t have a problem with that either. Just be mindful that endorsement trading is not a lawful route to gaining the Delegacy in Wysteria. As a rule, it's wise to slow down and back off from your endorsement trading if you get within ten endorsements of the sitting delegate.

Our Delegate was chosen in a democratic election and when the time does come to choose the next Delegate the same process will be used. In Wysteria, being the delegate is a bit more than just having your flag at the top of the page. Done properly, it can be lot of work, as Hydroponic Nation can attest to. We expect a lot from our delegates and in turn they deserve to have the results of the delegate elections respected, after their hard fought election campaigns and service to Wysteria.

ALL of the info is old - there is a crap load of map updating etc that needs to be done - but at least we're live again.

My apologies for the delay. Sometimes life just sucks and ours (well, mine, anyway) really was for a while there, which just happened to coincide with the Wysterian server going down.

Anyway, the mapping torch has passed on to The Bruce and he too is a busy beaver, so give him time to make the changes. I know, I know, you're thinking "Why wasn't he doing that while the server was down?" well, the answer is because the computer that had all the files on it? Was not available. But now it is, so you can politely pester him. :-P

3 hours ago FlagThe Free Allied Republic of Flanderosa It's nice to see another Doctor Who fan around here. Although Ten is still my favorite, I'm liking Eleven. I enjoy his own quirks, his somewhat more cynical view on humanity, his energy, and the dichotomy between his youthful appearance and his years of wisdom and experience. I've enjoyed the new series and am eagerly awaiting to see what the new crew has in store for us next series.
