The Incorporated NationStates of NewTexas is a gargantuan, socially progressive nation, ruled by Big Tex with a fair hand, and notable for its happy-go-lucky citizens. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 20.351 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, liberal, pro-business individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of NewAustin. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

Abortions are routinely performed in NewTexas's hospitals, the police force is on a recruitment drive, nine out of ten citizens of NewTexas answered 'nuclear safety inspector' when asked their occupation, and kids laugh off vandalism and arson as "just fun". Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. NewTexas's national animal is the Armadillo, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Fajita Taco.

NewTexas is ranked 7th in Texas and 830th in the world for Happiest Citizens, scoring 13 on the Relative Cheerfulness Rating.
