The States Rights Confederacy of Maryginia is a massive, cultured nation, ruled by Che Longhorns with an even hand, and remarkable for its unlimited-speed roads. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 4.431 billion enjoy extensive civil freedoms, particularly in social issues, while business tends to be more regulated.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded individuals devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Social Welfare and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Richamore. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Tourism industry, followed by Book Publishing and Information Technology.

Nude art is becoming wildly popular, terrified neighbors cower behind concertina wire and machine gun nests, thousands of former welfare recipients are in a revolutionary uproar as the rest of society is enjoying a hefty tax break, and businesses often fire workers in favour of cheaper automatic systems. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling, probably because of the country's utter lack of prisons. Maryginia's national animal is the armadillo, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, its national religion is the saliva god, and its currency is the confederate dollar.
