The Incorporated NationStates of NewTexas is a gargantuan, economically powerful nation, ruled by Big Tex with a fair hand, and notable for its complete lack of public education. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 20.346 billion live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, corrupt, liberal, pro-business individuals is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of NewAustin. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology industry, followed by Arms Manufacturing and Book Publishing.

The Armadillo is believed to be extinct, abortions are routinely performed in NewTexas's hospitals, the police force is on a recruitment drive, and nine out of ten citizens of NewTexas answered 'nuclear safety inspector' when asked their occupation. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is crippling. NewTexas's national animal is the Armadillo, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Fajita Taco.

NewTexas is ranked 169th in Texas and 101,103rd in the world for Largest Public Sector, scoring -26 on the Bureaucratic Comprehensiveness Rating Scale Index.
