Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 8.778 billion have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Law & Order, the Environment, and Religion & Spirituality. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Scientia. Income tax is unheard of. The private sector is almost wholly made up of enterprising fourteen-year-old boys selling lemonade on the sidewalk, although the government is looking at stamping this out.

Government officials are held to the highest standard of morality, the nation is experiencing a severe shortage of sporting events, voting is voluntary, and the government has implemented minimum wage laws. Crime is well under control, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Asuaw's national animal is the Horned Owl, which is also the nation's favorite main course, its national religion is mix of this and that, and its currency is the dollar.
