Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 14.193 billion enjoy great individual freedoms in everything except elections, which, where they exist at all, are populist shams for a dictatorship government that has no intention of ever giving up power.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it is effectively ruled by the Department of Defence, with areas such as Social Equality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Aelos Craftworld. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.

The government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid, corporate lobbying has been outlawed, the entire retail industry has been replaced by online delivery services, and several citizens have complained about scientists abducting their pets for experimentation. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Aelosia's national animal is the Hound of Valinor, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, its national religion is a major religion, and its currency is the Celevon.
